Happy graduation, high schoolers

The powers that be , wouldn’t let me wear the cap n gown and graduate with my class , I watched from the audience as my class ,76 , St. Paul Central went through commencement

I was an honor roll student , attendee of extension courses. But the moment I reached enough credits to qualify for my Diploma , my councilor said I was out .

I tried to return to school but the staff had my number and I when the discipline guy saw me in the hallway he asked / told me to leave .

As a kid in 3rd grade I was singled out and placed in ISOLATION, not a place to learn or be helped or mentored

No = Linwood elementary, places me alone in their library, no plan . Just away from my classmates

I missed field trips to nature centers and such , as I sat in the library.

I developed bad Asthma ,that year,at summer school

By Jr High I was so overwhelmed ( a bad thing happened to me , when I was preteen) that all I did was read my book and shut out the rest of the world

My next stop (7th grade ) was St Joseph’s psych ward .

A chance to get me in a school ( St. Paul Open School ) , CREATED FOR KIDS LIKE ME , was stalled and denied , by the powers that be

My mother fought hard trying to get me in

But I was not accepted, not cool enough or something. As a kind of jab at me and my mom = I finally was accepted into Open School , AFTER , I GRADUATED!

So my mom used that spot , created for me ,to , get my brother into Open School . He graduated and was class spokesman at the commencement.
