Like the movie apocalypse now the setting where dude first sees the temple{panic in needle park a great Al Pacino role but no,proactive PD here} Catholic Charities facilities have drawn people hanging out, street wise players from every big city from NY to Chicago to LA gathering ,pimps , pushers and
people so predatory they are no longer welcome where they come from, here they have moved to greener pastures fresh meat
while the most vulnerable who have nowhere else to go are coming and going by the hundreds, Being sized up profiled for the horrors of a failed economy. =
No walk-on factory jobs , there used to be competition between temporary work companies you could work for Top temps,Kelly services Building maintenance and many other Temp agencies.
You could be on an assembly line at a plastic container factory one week or welding luggage carts at another&there were always options to get hired on if they liked your work, but ,if you couldn’t handle continuous 40hr work weeks working temporary was a viable way to pay the rent , not anymore hundreds of manufacturers are simply gone .
now rent is ridiculous high and food is marketed like the stock market, utilities are no longer paid making rent an illusion of reality.
My life took many turns, not giving up at really knowing ,is,part of personal inventory , reaching out, through, my recollections , makes me feel that , at least my first person perspective is more valid than , say , gossip.
I have suffered from mental health issues my entire life .
I don’t believe in labels ( diagnostic guesswork ) I have traumatic brain damage, and have seen other labels put on me , in , medical records
In grade school , they tested me and in many years , I was put in S L D programs. ( not at Linwood Elementary ).
Sever asthma ( that manifested when I was eight years old ) kept me out of serving in the military
I worked all of my life = some years there was four or more W 2’s to file .
I continued to work ( and volunteer) after getting SSDI in 2004 and still do.
