Just a mistake
We were laying fresh gravel ,
Ya know put it in low [4 inches of gravel at the speed we were dumping] hit the pto to raise the dump bed .
Start by looking at the last load in front of you the place ( end of the last dump) where the last load was dumped
See it , Just over your hood , then proceed.
by the time your load starts to dump you will continue where the last guy/load leftoff.
Your speed ( the gear your in ) will determine the thickness of the gravel you dump .
The mistake, = Someone dumped his entire load in one spot !
A big pile of gravel in the middle of the road = no one getting by .
My boss was pissed , didn’t want to get a grader or cat to spread it out, so
He ran right into the pile with his dump truck, to spread it out ( we had been doing so good ) We still had to get it leveled anywho.
I’m talking about state work , on a gravel road that slowly sinks into the surrounding bog , about 50 mile from Canada, Minnesota.
